dublab 25th anniversary celebration at Zebulon w/ Maral, Teebs, Koreatown Oddity, and more

For two and a half decades, dublab has evolved from an early internet radio station to the vibrant hub of Los Angeles's experimental music community, bringing together artists and fans of all stripes in the name of free creativity. On the night of Saturday, September 28th, dublab's hosted their 25th birthday with a special bash that brought together arts lovers of all ages for an evening of grooving and exploration! Hosted at the ever-hip Zebulon in Frogtown neighborhood, the anniversary party offered a bit of everything - dozens of DJs, live performances, and visual artists, displaying the amazing talent we've been fortunate to cultivate. The event was split into three zones, each with its own unique flavor: the Stage, for live bands and DJ sets; the Dancefloor, where superb selectors created a sizzling, club-like vibe; and the Lounge, perfect for those seeking a more laid-back, downtempo, and ambient electronic beat. Stellar performers like Maral, Teebs, and The Koreatown Oddity took the stage, and throughout the night, guests representing every corner of the L.A. music scene dropped by.

“dublab was an inspiration for stations like NTS and Worldwide FM, broadcast platforms like Boiler Room, and now-defunct stations Red Light Radio and Berlin Community Radio. dublab fostered a community of musicians and creatives with the ethos of freeform college radio, and combined it with the global reach of the internet. Turning 25 is testament to what an organization and a community that is committed to creative music exploration can accomplish. The fact that dublab continues to thrive, remain relevant, and bring new generations to its roster and listenership after 25 years shows the clear need for organizations like dublab in creative communities across the globe.”

- Alejandro Cohen, Executive Director of dublab
