It's been an amazing year for the legendary rapper Nicki Minaj, a year that only seems to be getting better and better. The superstar rapper started the year off announcing her return to music after taking time to enjoy motherhood. Minaj returned on fire, delivering iconic rap collab tracks "Do We Have A Problem" and "Bussin" with Lil Baby and the hit drill track "We Go Up" featuring Fivio Foreign. Fast forward to Summer 2022, she's now earned her third overall and first solo No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Super Freaky Girl" (the lead single from Nicki Minaj's upcoming 5th studio album) making her the only female rap artist to achieve this since Lauryn Hill in 1998. Most recently she received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 VMA's where she performed a melody of her hits, including "Super Freaky Girl" for the first time. In addition to her solo success, earlier this week Minaj teased a remix for the song, teaming up with 5 other female artists for a (Queen Mix) collaborative remixing of her latest hit single "Super Freaky Girl". With over 12 years of mainstream success Minaj is one of the most successful female rappers in the industry and her co-sign carries a lot of weight. Although there was much speculation, prior to Thursday night no-one knew exactly who would be featured on the remix.

Originally scheduled to release at 12PM EST Nicki let fans know there would be a delay with the release time of the song (3AM EST). Determined to experience this iconic moment with the Barbz, the rapper hosted a late-night Queen Radio show on AMP where she phoned BIA and JT to discuss the BTS of making the song and previewing snippets of their verses before previewing the entire song. The remix features artists JT from the CityGirls, BIA, Akbar V, Maliibu Miitch, and Katie Got Bandz, 5 rising hip-hop rappers with very distinct flows. Throughout the years each artist has expressed how Nicki has both influenced and inspired their careers; all with hopes of one day working with the Nicki Minaj. Despite it's late release, the remix has already gone to No. 1 on US iTunes, making it the first chart-topping single for all the women and Nicki's 30th overall.

In recent years, Nicki Minaj has been linked to helping boost the careers of several female rappers. While a few have praised her for her work in promoting female rap unity and her willingness to collaborate with up-and-coming artists. Some have accused Minaj of rarely giving shout-outs to other female rappers in her music and that she has not done enough to help them achieve success, even calling for more unity among all women in the rap industry.

Despite public scrutiny, Nicki Minaj has been a champion of female rap representation and unity. In an industry that has long been dominated by men, Nicki has been a powerful force in promoting other female rappers. She has collaborated with many up-and-coming artists and has been a mentor to many young women in the industry. The "Super Freaky Girl" (Queen Mix) is a huge moment for female hip-hop and female rap unity. Whether you love her or hate her, there's no denying that Nicki Minaj is one of the most successful and influential female rappers of all time. As the landscape of rap continues to change, Nicki's influence will no doubt be felt for years to come. With her new solo success and her continued efforts to promote female rap unity, it’s clear that Nicki Minaj is reigning supreme as the Queen of Hip-Hop.
