Renowned R&B artist Tink triumphantly returns with her latest album, "Winter’s Diary 5."
A decade ago, Tink initiated the 'Winter’s Diary' series, establishing it as a poignant canvas for her most personal reflections. True to its title, this collection unveils layers of intimacy and raw emotion that have become synonymous with Tink's music.
"Winter’s Diary 5," now available, is a star-studded compilation featuring the widely acclaimed collaboration 'Songs About U' with Summer Walker. The album also boasts contributions from notable artists such as Skilla Baby, NoCap, and Jeremih. Esteemed producers Hitmaka, Bizness Boi, and SkipOnDaBeat expertly crafted the production.
The opening track, "WD5 Intro," begins with the sound of writing in a notebook, setting the stage for Tink's exploration of a tumultuous relationship. She poignantly declares, “You gon’ miss me when I'm gone,” signaling her readiness to move forward after enduring excessive inconsistency, deceit, and mind games. This introductory statement effectively establishes the thematic framework for the entire album.
Throughout tracks such as "Stressin'" and "Lows and Highs," Tink masterfully creates vivid imagery through her compelling vocals and relatable lyrics. Her ability to convey emotion with infectious melodies ensures that listeners are both captivated and deeply connected to her narrative journey.
“If you know my story, you know I never had it easy in this industry. I seen a lot of people go against me … turn they back … play with my name etc… but no matter what – my supporters have NEVER left my side,” - Tink
Adding to this milestone release is Tink's participation in Jhené Aiko’s forthcoming arena tour titled The Magic Hour. Alongside Coi Leray, Umi, and Kiana Ledé as supporting acts, this tour spans across 27 cities including Brooklyn, Las Vegas, and Atlanta before concluding at Nationwide Arena in Columbus on August 22.
Tink first emerged in the music scene over ten years ago with her debut mixtape Winter's Diary, which paved the way for her rapidly growing career. She continued to enrapture listeners with tracks like “Treat Me Like Somebody” from Winter’s Diary 2 (2014), subsequently releasing third and fourth volumes that further cemented her legacy. Expanding beyond these diaries, Tink has diversified her repertoire with projects such as “A Gift and A Curse,” “Pillow Talk,” and “Thanks 4 Nothing.” With Winter’s Diary 5, Tink reaffirms her stature as a prominent force within contemporary R&B.
